Job description

This position advertised has been exempted from the federal civilian hiring freeze., The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) drives the FBI’s enterprise technology vision-designing, securing, and modernizing the systems and data that power the Bureau’s mission. OCIO ensures every FBI employee can access trusted technology and actionable information at mission speed, whether supporting investigations, intelligence operations, or critical business functions. OCIO leads the FBI’s digital transformation through artificial intelligence, automation, advanced analytics, and integrated data platforms. #LI-FBI, GS- 12:

  • Conduct complex program and management analyses to help OCIO leaders address technical, operational, and organizational challenges.
  • Analyze data, performance metrics, and statistical information to improve the accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of OCIO services.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to resolve issues affecting the development, modernization, or operation of enterprise IT systems.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative assessments using data from multiple sources to support decision making and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead process reviews to identify inefficiencies, streamline workflows, eliminate redundancies, and ensure compliance with administrative and program requirements.

GS-13 (in addition to GS-12)

  • Advise OCIO leadership on technical issues related to planning, designing, procuring, implementing, and sustaining enterprise IT systems.
  • Partner with diverse customers and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and technical solutions that address complex network and system challenges.
  • Lead efforts to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency across OCIO’s enterprise IT environment.

GS-14 (in addition to GS-13)

  • Develop, interpret, and apply enterprise wide cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices across OCIO’s multi discipline environments. Deliver cybersecurity services by researching security standards, conducting system security and vulnerability analyses, and performing risk assessments.
  • Support OCIO’s Enterprise Security Operations Center (ESOC) in monitoring, analyzing, and detecting cyber events across FBI networks and systems.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for enterprise incident response activities within OCIO, including coordination with ESOC and other internal mission partners., GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
  • Prepare presentations, formal and informal reports, correspondence, briefings, charts, tables, and graphs that were distributed throughout an organization. Gathered, evaluated and compiled a variety of complex analytical data and information to report progress, explain problems discerned with the data, and provided recommendations for solutions.
  • Conduct quality reviews and developed and modified quality assurance measures.
  • Partner with Engineers or Subject Matter Experts to develop technical requirements for an IT project.
  • Knowledge of information technology systems to identify, define, forecast, analyze and research a variety of potential solutions and knowledge of modern network methodologies., * Utilizing the Resume Builder, outline your relevant work experience and associated start and end dates.   • Experience in project management, planning and management control techniques as well as resource estimation and cost benefit analysis techniques relative to project management functions.
  • Develop, interpret, plan, and apply policy and process best practices in the delivery of enterprise-wide, multi-discipline IT network service capacity and performance monitoring.
