The Operational Technology Division delivers technology - based solutions that enable and enhance the FBI’s intelligence, national security, and law enforcement operations. OTD provides advanced technical capabilities, specialized expertise, and mission-driven innovation to ensure FBI personnel can effectively investigate threats, protect the nation, and uphold the Constitution., GS-12:

• Produce documentation, reports, diagrams, and technical specifications to facilitate planning, proposals, new/updated procedures, new implementation, or upgrades of the IT infrastructure.
• Maintain and update inventory of computer equipment and identify their configuration and location within the office.
• Study, analyze and develop work measurement and other statistical methods to arrive at quantitative data necessary for analysis to improve accuracy, timeliness and validity of various services.

GS-13: (In addition to above)

• Serve as a Team Leader on large and complex projects, as required.
• Provide advice and guidance to management regarding technical issues which pertain to the planning, designing, developing, procuring, implementing, operating and maintaining of the organization’s IT systems.
• Provide technical support to all levels of personnel concerning the implementation and daily operations of the computer systems and individual microcomputer functions.

GS-14 (In addition to the above)

• Autonomously coordinates with internal and external partners to plan and implement IT infrastructure.
• Orally briefs technical and decision briefs to FBI management on complex issues.
• Provides technical budget preparation and interfaces between the technical experts and budget personnel to ensure all requirements are funded.
• Provide advice and guidance to management regarding technical issues which pertain to the planning, designing, developing, procuring, implementing, operating and maintaining of the organization’s IT systems., * Utilizing the Resume Builder, outline your relevant work experience and associated start and end dates. Specialized Experience (SE)

GS-12: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS11- grade level. SE is defined as follows:

• Experience providing information, guidance, and instruction on the use of desktop computer hardware and software products; as well as mainframe applications and systems.
• Experience reviewing operational needs to detect, diagnose, and resolve significant problems or error conditions relating to computer or related IT products and services.
• Experience preparing presentations, formal and informal reports, correspondence, briefings, and charts to distribute throughout an organization.

GS-13: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

• Experience providing expert advice and guidance to management regarding technical issues which pertain to the planning, designing, developing, procuring, implementing, operating and maintaining of the organization’s IT systems.
• Experience leading a team-based environment of technical personnel in complex and mission critical projects.
• Experience managing and successfully completing complex IT projects.

GS-14: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. SE is defined as follows:

• Experience with IT system management including managing systems hosted on Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS or advanced experience with data automation techniques including scripting and database management.
• Experience with coordinating major IT system changes with external enterprise partners.
• Experience with coordinating and implementing IT system security processes.
• Experience in writing and reviewing software and scripts in an infrastructure-as-code environment as well as experience in scaling scripts and application
