Your new company

A large UK public sector organisation is undertaking a major finance transformation programme, replacing its legacy finance platform with a new solution. As part of this critical change initiative, an experienced Data Conversion Manager is required to lead the migration of financial data, documents, images and associated records into the new environment.

Your new role

Reporting into the finance transformation programme, you will take ownership of the end-to-end data conversion workstream, ensuring all migration activities are delivered in a controlled, auditable and fully reconciled manner. This is not a traditional project management role. The successful candidate will be expected to combine strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, taking an active role in data extraction, mapping, validation, reconciliation and conversion activities.

Working closely with Finance SMEs, technical teams, project stakeholders and implementation partners, you will lead the discovery of source systems, define source-to-target mappings, manage data quality issues, oversee exception management and support testing, cutover and post-migration activities.

The programme includes the migration of significant volumes of finance-related data and documentation, including invoice images, purchase order records, goods received notes, remittance advice documents and supporting attachments. You will ensure all migrated records can be traced and reconciled back to source systems while maintaining robust governance, audit trails and project documentation throughout the engagement.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Proven hands-on experience working with eFinancials (essential).
• Demonstrable experience leading finance system or ERP data conversion and migration workstreams.
• Strong expertise in data extraction, transformation, mapping, validation and reconciliation.
• Experience producing migration documentation, conversion registers, validation reports, reconciliation reports and assurance packs.
• Strong understanding of finance processes including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing and Procurement.
• Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies, governance and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Eligibility to obtain NPPV Level 3 Police Vetting.

Desirable experience includes TechnologyOne implementations, public sector environments, emergency services organisations, and the migration of document repositories and attachment-based records.
