Cloud Software Engineer

As a Cloud System Administrator at CyberPoint, you will develop and sustain mission-critical software supporting some of the Intelligence Community’s largest distributed computing environments. You will join an Agile product development team building and maintaining applications that support large-scale compute clusters operating in highly available, mission-focused environments.

This role spans the full software development lifecycle - from requirements analysis and software design through implementation, testing, deployment, operations and continuous improvement. You will work alongside experienced engineers to solve complex technical challenges while developing reliable, scalable software for mission-critical systems.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, integrate, test, deploy and maintain Java-based applications supporting large-scale distributed computing environments.
• Participate in the full Agile software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, software design, implementation, testing, deployment and operations.
• Develop software solutions that integrate and extend commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) technologies.
• Perform code reviews, architecture reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization and root cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain software using modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and CI/CD practices.
• Support software operating within containerized and microservices-based architectures.
• Monitor production systems and troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
• Participate in Tier III on-call support for mission-critical applications and infrastructure.
• Develop and implements software test plans and test scripts.
• Diagnose and resolve software defects and operational issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, system administrators and mission stakeholders to develop and deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to software architecture and design decisions.
• Mentor junior developers by providing technical guidance, conducting peer reviews and sharing software development best practices.
• Document software designs, technical processes, troubleshooting activities and system configurations., * Experience with one or more of the following technologies is highly desired: Apache Hadoop Apache Accumulo Apache NiFi MongoDB ActiveMQ or other message broker technologies Spring Framework Python and Bash scripting AWS Cloud and hybrid cloud environments Infrastructure as Code (IaC) CI/CD pipelines and automated software deployment Containerized and microservices-based architectures Data warehouses and analytics platforms Large-scale data processing and data flow environments Security and compliance best practices Distributed computing and large-scale cloud environments

• US Citizenship
• Active TS/SCI + Full Scope Polygraph
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing and problem diagnosis/resolution.
• At least 4 years of experience developing software using high-level programming languages, including Java, C, C++ or comparable languages.
• At least 3 years of experience with software integration and software testing, including developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
• At least 3 years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux operating systems, including Red Hat Linux environments.
• Experience participating in Agile software development methodologies and practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is highly desired and may be considered equivalent to 2 years of experience.
• A Master’s degree in a technical field may be considered equivalent to 4 years of experience.
• Degrees in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering or similar technical disciplines are considered related technical fields.
• Must possess one of the following certifications:
• AWS Certified Developer - Associate
• AWS Certified Machine Learning - Associate
• AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty
• AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
