Mid-Level Systems Test Engineer

We are seeking a Mid-Level Systems Test Engineer to support a high-visibility Department of Defense space systems program focused on mission-critical satellite ground and enterprise systems. This role will be responsible for leading verification, validation, integration, and mission readiness activities across complex operational environments.

The ideal candidate has experience testing large-scale enterprise systems, supporting satellite ground architectures, and collaborating across multidisciplinary engineering teams in secure DoD environments. This position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of systems engineering, integration, test automation, cybersecurity, and DevSecOps., Develop and execute system-level test strategies, plans, procedures, and verification artifacts.

• Provide technical guidance to systems engineering teams to ensure standardized testing approaches and successful verification of performance requirements.
• Coordinate test activities across multiple vendors, development teams, Agile organizations, and government stakeholders.
• Manage integrated test schedules supporting developmental testing, operational testing, readiness reviews, and major integration milestones.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, cybersecurity, and end-to-end system testing.
• Validate software releases, configuration changes, and updates to enterprise mission systems and supporting infrastructure.
• Test and evaluate enterprise IT environments, including servers, networks, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and mission-essential services.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions integrated into modern CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated deployments, and integration workflows.
• Identify, document, and track defects while leading root cause investigations and resolution efforts.
• Produce test reports, readiness assessments, risk analyses, and executive-level briefings.
• Ensure compliance with configuration management, cybersecurity requirements, and quality assurance standards.
• Provide technical leadership during integration events, demonstrations, certifications, and operational readiness activities.

6+ years of professional experience (advanced education may be substituted for some experience).

• 3+ years of experience in complex enterprise IT system testing, integration, or systems engineering.
• Experience testing enterprise infrastructure environments including servers, networking, storage, virtualization, and system services.
• Demonstrated experience developing comprehensive test plans, procedures, and test cases.
• Experience executing or developing automated testing solutions.
• Proven ability to coordinate activities across multiple engineering organizations, vendors, Agile teams, and government stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of requirements verification, validation methodologies, and the Systems Engineering V-Model.
• Experience decomposing complex systems into testable components and capabilities.

• Familiarity with Agile development practices and secure software development workflows., Experience supporting space mission systems, satellite ground systems, or space enterprise architectures. DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent).

• Experience operating within classified DoD environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and secure or air-gapped environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
