Technical Team Lead

I’m partnered with a growing retail company based in ‘s-Hertogenbosch that has spent the past few years building a stronger, more capable technical organisation. Having established a solid foundation at home, we’re now expanding internationally - with recent launches in Belgium, France and Germany, and further markets on the roadmap. They’re looking for a Technical Team Lead to help their engineering team scale in step with the business - someone who can combine hands-on technical leadership with the structure and rigour to make key decisions. This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable in the detail (code quality, architecture decisions, sprint execution) and in the bigger picture (roadmap planning, stakeholder conversations, team development)., * Lead, coach and grow a team of 5 engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.

• Act as a trusted sparring partner to the Head of Technology, contributing to technical strategy and decision-making, and challenging ideas constructively.
• Define, track and report on core technical KPIs (e.g. delivery velocity, system reliability, code quality, deployment frequency) that give the business clear visibility into team performance.
• Own the team’s execution - planning, prioritisation, sprint cadence - ensuring commitments are realistic and consistently met.
• Safeguard code quality, architectural decisions and engineering best practices across the team’s output.
• Work closely with product, operations, and other business stakeholders to align technical delivery with business priorities.
• Contribute to the team’s growth plan, including hiring, onboarding and development of team members as the company scales.

• Strong hands-on technical background - able to earn credibility with the team and stay close enough to the work to make informed decisions.
• Skilled in Python
• Knowledge of Cloud and APIs is a nice too have.
• A track record of setting and managing KPIs that meaningfully improve team performance and delivery predictability.
• Strong communication skills; fluent in Dutch.
• A natural coach and people leader who genuinely enjoys developing others.

• A salary of up to €90,000, depending on experience.
