Software Developer

Based on the needs of the Survey department, you’ll identify the software that needs to be developed. You’ll inventory and analyze the required functionality and then be responsible for designing, building, testing, and documenting the software.

The software solutions are often state-of-the-art and require you to have a good understanding of data processing and visualization. A certain level of mathematical knowledge will also be useful in this role. Whether it’s existing or newly developed technology, you’re up to the task. Developments are moving rapidly, and Boskalis is eager to innovate, so we expect you to be flexible and up-to-date on the latest trends in technical software development., * A Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science.

• Preferably 5-10 years of relevant work experience in a similar role where you independently developed (technical) software.
• Knowledge of applied development methods, languages, and tools, such as Linux and C++. - Demonstrable experience with object-oriented information analysis, software design, development, and documentation.
• Excellent command of both Dutch and English.
• Good communication skills.
• Comfortable working abroad for short periods.

Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following is a plus:

• Dredging processes and equipment or the maritime sector.
• Hydrography and/or survey instrumentation, equipment, and methods.
• Data processing and visualization.
• GIS system and CAD systems.
