Part-Time DevOps / Cloud Engineer - Federal Contract (Remote, US)

Operate and maintain an Azure for Government hosting environment for an operating web platform: patching, monitoring, telemetry, log aggregation, alerting, backups, and WAF.

• Maintain GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines; execute production deployments with testing and rollback controls; support dev, stage, and production environments.

• Remediate findings from Government security scans within required timeframes; support continuous monitoring activities for a Government-managed system.

• Maintain databases (MongoDB), search indexes, caches, and asynchronous job queues; monitor uptime against a 99 percent standard measured continuously.

• Provide heightened operational monitoring during seasonal peak periods (June-September reporting season) within standard business hours.

Role-specific qualifications: At least 3 years of DevOps or cloud operations; Azure required, Azure for Government preferred; GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD; production monitoring and incident response; MongoDB administration a plus., General requirements: US-based and working on US soil; Bachelors degree plus at least 3 years of relevant experience (required by our GSA contract); federal contracting experience a plus.

Compensation: $65 per hour (1099 or W2 hourly depending on arrangement), paid for hours worked., The engagement: approximately 200 hours in year one, then approximately 90 hours per year in subsequent option years spread as steady part-time work, not a single block. Fully remote from anywhere in the United States, during Eastern business hours (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET). No on-call or after-hours work, including for critical incidents. One annual planning trip to Fort Collins, CO or Falls Church, VA may be requested for lead personnel. A Government laptop is provided.
