Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our engineering team in New York City. You will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and scaling reliable software products that solve complex customer and business problems. The ideal candidate has strong software engineering fundamentals, experience working on production-grade systems, and the ability to take ownership of projects from technical design through implementation and deployment. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced product environment and collaborating closely with engineering, product, design, and other cross-functional teams., * Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance software applications.

• Own engineering projects end-to-end, from requirements and technical design through implementation, deployment, and production support.

• Develop well-structured, maintainable, and testable code following software engineering best practices.

• Design and implement APIs, backend services, distributed systems, databases, and other core application components.

• Participate in architecture and system-design discussions and contribute to long-term technical decisions.

• Identify performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability issues and implement effective solutions.

• Collaborate with Product, Design, Data, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.

• Participate in code reviews and help maintain high standards for engineering quality.

• Build automated tests and monitoring to ensure reliability and production readiness.

• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis.

• Contribute to engineering documentation, technical specifications, and development processes.

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, Go, C++, TypeScript, or similar.

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, and software architecture.

• Experience designing and developing scalable production systems.

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, databases, distributed systems, and software development best practices.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, version control, and production debugging.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure-as-code.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, or other modern databases.

• Experience with Kafka or other messaging systems.

• Experience building AI/ML or GenAI-powered applications.

• Experience with React, TypeScript, or other modern frontend technologies.

• Experience working in a high-growth startup or product-focused engineering organization.
