Technical Product Owner - (SDD/AI)

The Product Owner (SDD) serves as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams for the PCT 2.0 modernization initiative. This role is responsible for transforming business objectives, workflows, prototypes, and requirements into clear, complete, testable specifications that enable rapid delivery using Specification-Driven Development (SDD) and AI-assisted development practices., Unlike a traditional Product Owner focused primarily on backlog management, this role owns the translation of business intent into delivery-ready specifications, ensuring requirements are complete, traceable, and aligned with both business outcomes and technical implementation needs. The Product Owner will partner closely with Business Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineering Leads, and delivery squads to establish and maintain the authoritative source of truth for product requirements. The pay rate for this role ranges between $50-65/hour based on years of experience., Product & Requirements Ownership -

• Define and maintain product requirements, business rules, workflows, acceptance criteria, and user journeys.

• Convert business requirements, prototypes, process maps, and stakeholder input into detailed specifications suitable for SDD-based development.

• Establish and maintain a version-controlled source of truth for product specifications.

• Ensure requirements are clear, complete, testable, and implementation-ready before development begins.

• Drive prioritization decisions aligned to business value, strategic objectives, and delivery capacity.

Specification-Driven Development Leadership -

• Lead adoption of Specification-Driven Development practices across the squad.

• Develop structured specifications that can be leveraged by AI-assisted development tools.

• Facilitate specification reviews with business and technology stakeholders.

• Ensure architecture, workflow, data, security, compliance, and acceptance criteria are aligned before development starts.

• Reduce delivery risk by identifying ambiguity and unresolved decisions early in the lifecycle.

Backlog & Jira Governance -

• Own the product backlog and delivery prioritization.

• Translate approved specifications into epics, features, stories, and tasks.

• Define acceptance criteria and ensure traceability from business requirements through delivery.

• Establish and maintain Jira workflows, reporting structures, and delivery metrics.

• Collaborate with development teams to ensure requirements remain aligned throughout implementation.

Business & Technology Liaison -

• Act as the primary communication bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams.

• Facilitate requirement workshops, clarification sessions, and solution reviews.

• Collaborate with Business Product Owners, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Engineering Leads to align priorities and remove blockers.

• Ensure business decisions are communicated clearly and reflected in the product roadmap and specifications.

Delivery & Program Support -

• Participate in sprint/bolt planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and release readiness activities.

• Support development teams during implementation by resolving requirement questions and prioritization decisions.

• Track progress against business objectives and delivery milestones.

Experience

• 5+ years of Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Systems Analyst, or Technical Product Owner experience.

• Experience delivering enterprise software solutions in Agile environments.

• Proven experience translating business processes into detailed requirements and user stories.

• Experience working with Jira or similar Agile planning tools.

• Experience working directly with software engineering teams.

Specification-Driven Development Expertise

• Demonstrated experience with Specification-Driven Development (SDD), AI-assisted software delivery, or model-driven development approaches.

• Experience creating structured specifications that serve as development blueprints.

• Understanding of how AI tools can accelerate requirements analysis, specification generation, and software delivery.

• Ability to establish governance ensuring AI-generated outputs remain traceable, testable, and compliant.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of:

o API-based integrations

o Workflow automation

o SaaS platforms

o Enterprise data models

o System integration patterns

• Familiarity with Salesforce ecosystems and commercial operations platforms preferred.

• Ability to engage effectively with architects, developers, QA engineers, and data teams. - Experience with CPQ, pricing, contracting, quoting, or commercial operations platforms.

• Exposure to AI-enabled development platforms and prompt engineering.

• Experience building products using human-in-the-loop AI workflows.

• Experience supporting large-scale modernization or digital transformation programs.

• CSPO, SAFe POPM, PMI-PBA, or equivalent certification.
