Director of IT & Infastructure

We are looking for a hands-on leader who can personally troubleshoot complex problems, administer key systems and implement improvements while establishing clear priorities, standards and accountability. You will build internal capability, evaluate outside services and develop the right combination of employees and specialized partners to improve service and control total technology costs. You will initially work with existing outside providers and business leaders. The future team may include a technician based in Colorado and other resources as needs and budgets are established. You will help shape that structure and remain actively involved in technical execution as the function grows., * Personally diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and system issues; implement practical improvements in Microsoft 365, identity, Windows environments, networking, endpoints and related systems.

• Lead reliable support across locations through clear priorities, escalation, communication and follow-through. Eliminate recurring causes of disruption while balancing direct support with planned improvement work.
• Establish and maintain company-controlled documentation, administrative access, inventories, technology standards and purchasing processes.
• Own cybersecurity and recovery readiness, using appropriate internal and specialist resources for monitoring, prevention, response, backups and tested restoration.
• Work with operational leaders and application vendors to improve ERP and other critical business applications, integrations, access and data reliability.
• Manage vendor performance, contracts, service expectations and invoices. Identify which services should move in-house, remain outsourced or be redesigned.
• Build the IT budget, equipment lifecycle plan and technology roadmap. Lead projects and develop the internal team with measurable improvements in service, reliability and cost effectiveness.

What success looks like First 90 days: Establish trusted working relationships; assess systems, contracts, costs and workload; address urgent risks; and present an initial improvement roadmap and staffing/provider recommendation. First six months: Implement priority fixes, establish service measures and cost visibility, validate critical recovery capabilities, and begin the approved plan for building internal capacity and improving outside support. First year: Demonstrate sustained improvements in reliability, issue resolution, employee experience, internal capability and total technology cost effectiveness. Maintain a practical 12- to 24-month roadmap with clear owners, budgets and priorities., You will work directly with senior leadership, influence technology across several growing businesses and build a function with a clear operational purpose. • At least seven years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, operations or technology leadership, including recent hands-on technical execution.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues and implement solutions across several core areas: Microsoft 365, identity and access, Windows, networking, firewalls, VPNs, endpoints, servers and backups.
• Experience supporting multiple locations and leading people, projects or outside providers. You can establish priorities, hold others accountable and explain technology clearly to nontechnical colleagues.
• Practical cybersecurity and business-continuity knowledge, sound judgment about when specialist help is needed, and a consistent approach to documentation and follow-through.
• Experience managing technology costs, vendors and projects, with examples of measurable operational improvements.
• Ability to work onsite in Lamoni, travel to company locations and respond to critical operational issues.
• A relevant degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in manufacturing, building materials, distribution, construction, retail, ERP support, or building an internal IT function is especially valuable.

Delta Building Center and affiliated companies Lamoni, Iowa | Onsite at Team Corporate | Full time | Reports to Integrator Base salary: $100,000 - $120,000 annually. Annual performance bonus: $30,000 at target, with a maximum of $40,000. Total annual cash compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 at target performance and up to $140,000 - $160,000 at maximum performance. Bonus is earned against defined goals and is not guaranteed. Company benefits and relocation assistance are available for the right candidate.
