Engineering Associate II

The Interconnection Planning and Modeling team is looking for a future power systems expert! Interested in renewable power, data centers, and building the grid of tomorrow? This role will offer the opportunity to work directly with project developers and regulatory authorities while developing industry recognized transmission power flow and planning skills. The person interested in this position is someone who wants to learn a broad range of transmission planning skills: steady state studies, stability studies, and advanced electromagnetic studies. How You’ll Contribute:

• Perform transmission system power flow studies using modeling software
• Engage with external consultants, regulatory authorities, and interconnecting entities
• Sponsor capital projects needed to improve the LCRA transmission system and interconnect new resources
• Become a subject matter expert in power flow studies by performing steady state and stability studies
• Coordinate with other LCRA engineering teams to develop project scope

• Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science.
• One or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job.
• Driver’s license

How You’ll Stand Out:

• One or more years of experience with PSSE or TARA modeling software
• One or more years of experience with Python or other scripting software
• Having a passion for becoming a part of the electrical power industry
