Job description
LCRA’s Power Generation Services team is seeking an Applications Administrator Sr to join our team. On this team you will assist with managing software solutions that provide support to LCRA’s generating facilities. You will lead continuous opportunities for improvement to department personnel and mentor junior team members. In this role, you will provide support for software applications, including configuration, deployment, installation, tuning, monitoring, maintenance, and updates. You will also offer technical help and training on applications to users and IT staff when needed. Additionally, you will develop comprehensive documentation to support these applications. How You’ll Contribute:
- Lead medium to large sized projects and trains/mentors less experienced staff.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of best practices and experience in own discipline to provide and improve services.
- Take a new perspective to solve complex problems.
- Work independently and receive minimal guidance.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Propose and implement system enhancements.
- May direct the work of other staff members., * Pursue new technologies, knowledge, training and problem resolutions. Research, test and develop these technologies.
- Plan and coordinate medium to large sized software application projects and provide documentation for projects.
- Conduct team meetings, provide task management, estimate and define project timelines, allocate resources, prioritize work, and manage the work package as assigned under periodic review.
- Develop recommendations for application purchases and upgrades.
Requirements
- Nine or more years of experience in providing troubleshooting, configuration, administration and support for software applications or relevant experience.
- A degree(s) in computer science, information technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- For ELS incumbents:
- Nine or more years of experience in a technical role in a commercial environmental laboratory or relevant experience.
- A degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, environmental science, physical sciences, database administration, programming, engineering or relevant field may be substituted for up to four years of experience.
- Driver’s license
