Automation Architect - SRE Operations

We are looking for a hands-on Automation Architect to lead the design and delivery of an automation-first Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) operating model. This person will architect self-healing, AI-augmented operational tooling that reduces manual toil, shortens incident response, and hardens production resilience across distributed, cloud-native, and enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate has spent time inside an actual SRE organization, has built production-grade microservices and integrations at scale, and is now extending that foundation into agentic AI and intelligent automation for engineering and operations workflows. What You’ll Do

• Architect end-to-end automation frameworks for incident detection, triage, remediation, and post-incident reporting, reducing mean-time-to-detect (MTTD) and mean-time-to-resolve (MTTR) across production environments.
• Design and implement AI-powered automation agents - using tools such as LLM orchestration frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and Model Context Protocol (MCP) - that connect enterprise knowledge bases, ticketing systems, and live application telemetry to accelerate diagnosis and support decisions.
• Define and evolve canary, blue-green, and progressive-delivery deployment models, embedding automated health checks, rollback triggers, and SLO-based gating into CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and maintain DevOps tooling that executes automated system health checks, checklist-driven runbooks, and self-service diagnostics for on-call engineers.
• Establish SLIs/SLOs and error-budget policies in partnership with application and platform teams, and instrument observability (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards) to make reliability data actionable.
• Lead architecture for event-driven, microservices-based automation across cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), including messaging and integration layers (Kafka, SQS/SNS, Service Bus).
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, QA, and production-support teams to identify automation opportunities, build the business case, and drive adoption of automation-first practices.
• Mentor engineering and SRE teams on automation patterns, infrastructure-as-code practices, and operational best practices; contribute to technical documentation, playbooks, and governance standards.
• Represent automation and reliability strategy in client and executive-facing briefings, translating technical capability into business value.

• 12+ years in enterprise software architecture, with direct experience in an SRE, DevOps, or production-support organization (e.g., building DevOps tooling for automated system health checks).
• Proven track record architecting and shipping cloud-native microservices at scale (Java/Spring Boot or equivalent) within regulated industries such as financial services or fintech.
• Hands-on experience building AI-driven automation agents for engineering/QA workflows - including agents that execute multi-step application workflows and technical-support assistants using RAG/MCP.
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), event-driven architecture, and enterprise messaging (Kafka, SNS/SQS, Service Bus).
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tooling and version control (Jenkins, Git) and experience embedding automated gating into deployment pipelines.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate architecture decisions to both technical and executive audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree a plus., * Experience designing canary and progressive-delivery deployment automation.
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, Spring AI) and LLM providers (OpenAI GPT, Claude).
• Background supporting investment-management, lending, or capital-markets platforms.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certification.
• Track record of published technical thought leadership, conference speaking, or open-source contribution in automation/reliability engineering.
