Technical Product Owner-Full Stack

Nucor Buildings Group (NBG) is seeking a Product Owner to help turn business opportunities and innovative ideas into valuable digital products for its NBG’s Product Innovation Group. This unique role combines product ownership with hands-on full-stack engineering, providing a strong technical connection between users, product priorities, and the development team. The successful candidate will help define what we build and why, manage and prioritize product needs, translate them into actionable development work, and contribute directly to building and delivering solutions using our modern Python, .NET, React, and Azure technology stack.

Basic Job Functions:

• Own and prioritize the product backlog, translating stakeholder needs and opportunities into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Partner with users and stakeholders to define what should be built, why it matters, and how success will be measured.

• Contribute hands-on to full-stack development using Python, React/TypeScript, C#/.NET, APIs, SQL, and Azure.

• Collaborate with the development team to balance product priorities, technical considerations, delivery effort, and iterative releases.

• Use feedback, application insights, and emerging technologies, including AI, to continuously improve product capabilities and user value.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• 5+ years of experience in software development, technical product ownership, or a combination of both.

• Strong experience with Python, React, TypeScript, C#, .NET/ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, and SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL.

• Experience working with stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into priorities, requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Experience with product prioritization, backlog management, demonstrations, and feedback cycles.

• Experience with automated Playwright testing, Git, code reviews, CI/CD, and cloud application development.

• Ability to balance product priorities, technical considerations, and delivery needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, or similar role while remaining technically hands-on.

• Experience taking products from concept/POC through production and continuous improvement.

• Experience developing commercial or enterprise applications.

• Experience with Azure, Docker, CI/CD, security, and observability.

• Experience with product analytics and user feedback.

• Experience with Azure AI Foundry, RAG, LLM APIs, agent frameworks, and/or MCP., Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
