Technology Manager-Full Stack Software Engineering

Nucor Buildings Group (NBG) is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineering Technology Manager to lead a team delivering modern enterprise applications for NBG’s Innovation initiatives. This role combines people leadership, technical direction, and hands-on software technology leadership. The Supervisor will establish technology standards, guide architecture and technology decisions, mentor teammates, and enable the team to deliver secure, scalable, maintainable, production-ready software.

Basic Job Functions:

• Provide technical direction and people leadership for the full-stack development team, establishing engineering standards, practices, and priorities.

• Guide application architecture, technology decisions, design/code reviews, and resolution of complex technical challenges.

• Coach and mentor developers while promoting collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.

• Partner with Product Ownership and Architecture leads to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and production-ready.

• Remain technically engaged through architecture reviews, prototypes, critical development efforts, and evaluation of emerging technologies.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including production applications.

• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, and direction to software teams.

• Strong experience with Python, React, TypeScript, C#, .NET/ASP.NET Core, REST APIs, SQLand/or PostgreSQL.

• Experience developing and deploying applications in Azure Containers or a comparable cloud platform.

• Strong understanding of software architecture, security, automated Playwright testing, CI/CD, scalability, and observability.

• Ability to establish engineering standards, guide technical decisions, and conduct design/code reviews.

• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a technical lead, engineering lead, or development supervisor.

• Experience with GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes/AKS, Terraform/Bicep.

• Experience with enterprise security, distributed systems, messaging, and observability.

• Experience establishing reusable engineering patterns and development standards.

• Experience with AI-enabled applications that utilize Azure AI Foundry, RAG, agent frameworks, LLM APIs, and/or MCP deployments.
