Reporting to the Director of Power Generation, the Power Generation Specialist is a hybrid technical and commercial role responsible for driving growth in propane power generation while serving as a subject matter expert (SME) across customer solutions, system design, and execution.
This role requires a unique combination of hands-on technical expertise and strong sales acumen. The Specialist will develop and close new business opportunities, while also providing end-to-end technical leadership across project design, customer engagement, and implementation. The position plays a critical role in bridging technical solutions with commercial success.
This role is designed for a true hybrid professional-someone who can engineer propane power generation solutions and close deals. Success comes from working collaboratively with out Commercial field sales organization and blending technical depth with commercial sales execution to drive growth and competitive advantage.
What youâll do:
- Prospect, research, identify and close new business opportunities while building a robust network of referrals to support revenue growth.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline, close deals, and coordinate implementation plans with Operations to meet sales targets.
- Lead the sales process as the subject matter expert, acting as the main resource and contact for prospective customers.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts by collaborating with Superiorâs regional teams.
- Track key performance indicators, providing regular reports on progress and achievements within the sales funnel.
- Prepare and deliver persuasive sales proposals and business cases, negotiating and closing deals in the companyâs and customersâ best interests.
- Align with power generation manufacturers and packagers to optimize strategies and solutions.
- Collaborate with General Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Sales Representatives, and Operations to execute a power generation growth strategy.
- Support a national rental equipment partner program.
- Champion market assessments, advising internal teams on insights and forward-thinking strategies.
- Attend trade shows and collaborate with the Propane Education & Research Council to research new products and uncover potential opportunities.
- Resolve issues during the lifecycle of power generation projects with input from subject matter experts and key decision-makers.
- Ensure a seamless transition to account management teams after new customer on-boarding and project implementation.
- Advocate Superiorâs safety culture and promote the company positively within the industry and communities., * Foster strong engagement and alignment across regional sales teams to drive lead generation and opportunity development
Requirements
- Build and expand a network of OEMs, distributors, packagers, and strategic partners
- Minimum of five years of progressive sales experience
- Demonstrated success in new power generation business development
- Demonstrated track record working with Large Enterprise level customers in multiple lines of business
- Exceptional prospecting (âhuntingâ) skills balanced with relationship management expertise
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Experienced in presenting proposals in-person and in virtual environments
- Strong business acumen, with ability to develop financial and business case models
- Strong ability to actively listen and influence
- Superb organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with computer skills and CRM (Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Reporting Tools)
- Knowledge of the propane industry an asset
- Valid Driverâs License
- Valid Passport

Benefits & conditions
The expected annual base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 a year. This role is also eligible for an uncapped sales incentive plan.
