Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in Java development and a passion for leveraging AI in software engineering. This role combines hands-on software development with technical analysis, architecture design, and close collaboration with business stakeholders.

You will join a dynamic team within the financial services sector, helping to develop and enhance modern applications while utilizing AI-powered development tools to improve efficiency, quality, and delivery speed., * Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Java and Spring within a Microsoft Azure environment.

Design and optimize backend services with a focus on reliability, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Utilize AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and similar technologies to accelerate software delivery and support rapid prototyping.
Design APIs, integrations, interfaces, and event-driven architectures.
Contribute to the automation of testing, integration, and deployment processes through modern CI/CD practices.
Analyse business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Support Product Owners by providing technical guidance and clarifying system capabilities and constraints.
Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, testers, DevOps specialists, and other stakeholders within an agile international team.

Requirements

Several years of professional experience in software development.
Strong hands-on expertise in:
Java
Spring Framework
SQL
REST APIs
Maven
Experience with modern frontend technologies such as:
React
Angular
or similar frameworks
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
Practical experience with cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure.
Strong understanding of software architecture, integrations, and modern development practices.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to work.
Fluent German is mandatory due to close collaboration with business stakeholders.
Good English skills are desirable.

Nice to Have

Previous experience using AI tools within the Software Development Lifecycle.
Experience building prototypes and proof-of-concepts using AI-assisted development.
Experience working within agile environments and cross-functional teams.
