Job description

Working closely with business stakeholders, analysts and technical teams, you will develop and maintain data pipelines, data models and semantic layers that turn complex data into reliable, accessible information. You will help establish modern engineering practices, improve data quality and governance, and support the delivery of strategic initiatives that will shape the future of transport across the west of Scotland., Fulltime hours will be 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to undertake work outwith this norm to meet the responsibilities of the post.

Requirements

You will have experience working with modern data platforms and a strong understanding of data modelling, transformation and integration principles. You’ll be comfortable developing data pipelines and analytical solutions using tools such as SQL and cloud-based technologies, with an appreciation of data governance, quality and security requirements.

We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical thinking with a collaborative approach. You will be able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business requirements into robust data solutions.

Benefits & conditions

Whilst you will be based at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, SPT operate a hybrid working pattern which allows 40% home working (i.e. 2 days per week Monday to Friday).

Please note, this position falls into the low-risk category under the Alcohol and Drugs policy and therefore is subject to for-cause testing procedures.
