Infrastructure Architect

1. Design and implement VMware-based IaaS solutions aligned to business requirements and industry best practices.
2. Architect and deploy solutions using VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VMware Aria Operations, VMware Cloud Director (VCD), and NSX-T.
3. Design and implement air-gapped patching and update capabilities within VMware environments.
4. Configure and optimise virtualised infrastructure, ensuring performance, availability, and security.
5. Deploy and manage VMware Cloud Director environments, including resource pools, organisations, virtual data centres, and networking.
6. Design and implement VMware Cloud Director Availability (VCD-A) solutions for disaster recovery and workload mobility.
7. Support Omnissa Horizon VDI environments and provide advanced troubleshooting expertise.
8. Collaborate with infrastructure, operations, security, and project teams to deliver robust cloud solutions.
9. Develop technical designs, architecture documentation, operational procedures, and implementation guides.
10. Drive continuous improvement by evaluating emerging VMware technologies and best practices.

1. Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise VMware solutions.

8. Experience with software-defined networking and security technologies.
9. Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, virtualisation, cloud platforms, and disaster recovery.
10. Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
11. Experience producing high and low-level design documentation.
12. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
13. Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Desirable Skills VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification. VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) certification. Experience within secure, regulated, or government environments. Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tooling. Experience designing secure-by-design cloud architectures.
