Reliability Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Reliability Engineer for a 2-year W2 contract position in Greensboro, NC. This role supports product reliability for fueling hardware through failure analysis, validation, issue resolution, and reliability testing. This position collaborates with design, test, manufacturing, quality, and field service teams to improve product durability, serviceability, reliability, and long-term performance., * Support hardware reliability evaluations throughout the product lifecycle, including development, release, and field performance review.

• Assist with root cause analysis of hardware issues using structured problem-solving, data review, teardown analysis, and test evidence.
• Plan and execute reliability tests, qualification support, and environmental or stress testing in coordination with engineering peers.
• Review field returns, complaint data, and service trends to identify recurring failure modes and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare clear technical summaries, test results, and investigation findings for internal stakeholders.
• Work with design and manufacturing teams to support design changes, process improvements, and verification of corrective actions.
• Contribute to reliability metrics, risk reviews, and lessons learned activities for assigned products or subsystems.
• Support and implement continuous improvement in Design for Reliability, Lab, and Test processes.
• Support cross-functional teams by tracking actions, following issues through closure, and communicating status in a timely manner.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in hardware engineering, reliability engineering, test engineering, validation, quality, or related function.
• Experience working with electromechanical products, industrial equipment, embedded hardware, or other complex hardware systems.
• Experience with new product and agile development processes.
• Experience leading FMEA analyses for design and process.
• Experience using reliability software tools such as Weibull++ and Minitab for statistical analysis.
• Working knowledge of reliability tools and methods such as root cause analysis, failure analysis, test planning, and corrective action support.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and test documentation.
• Experience with Design for Reliability tools and field trial planning.
• Experience with cost out and VAVE projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical findings clearly.
• Ability to work effectively across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and field support organizations., * Experience with fuel dispensing, retail fueling, payment hardware, industrial controls, or outdoor electronic equipment.
• Exposure to reliability standards, accelerated life testing, environmental stress testing, or product qualification methods.
• Hands-on experience with hardware teardown, lab testing, data analysis, or instrumentation.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis tools, reliability tracking, or engineering software used for investigation and reporting.
• Experience supporting product launches, field issue resolution, or manufacturing problem-solving.

Pay Range: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
