Job description

Strong experience supporting and enhancing legacy Java applications, ideally across Java 1.4 through Java 8.

EAR / WAR / JAR deployments
Legacy Java application development and support
Legacy application modernisation
Vulnerability remediation and security fixes
Troubleshooting, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise applications, * Experience working with traditional enterprise Java application servers including IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Oracle WebLogic and Apache Tomcat.
Strong knowledge of legacy web application frameworks and technologies including Struts 1.x, Spring 1.x/2.x, JSP, JSTL, Servlets, Velocity.
Experience with iBatis, JDBC and Oracle database integration.
Comfortable working with EAR, WAR and JAR deployments and complex dependency chains.
Able to analyse, debug and remediate issues in large, long-lived codebases with significant technical debt and obsolete third-party libraries.
Experience supporting technical upgrades, vulnerability remediation, framework upgrades and application migrations.
