Working Student Global IT - Focus on AI & LLM Solutions

KGaA across various projects, with a clear focus on our AI and Large Language Model (LLM) initiatives.

The position is based in Einbeck, Lower Saxony (near Göttingen), Germany. We are looking for your support for 20 hours per week alongside your studies, with the opportunity to increase your working hours to up to 38 hours per week during semester breaks. Your working schedule can be arranged flexibly around your academic commitments.

As a Working Student (m/f/d), you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, gather and prioritize different requirements, and contribute to our AI-related use cases. You will help coordinate external providers and work within complex IT environments with many interconnected systems. While overall solution ownership remains with our experts, you will actively contribute to the content and gain valuable insights into how AI applications evolve from initial ideas to productive business solutions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your organizational skills and technical expertise in a challenging and dynamic environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Independently work on a variety of tasks across multiple projects after appropriate onboarding and guidance
• Support the development and testing of AI/LLM applications and services (Python, APIs, integrations)
• Contribute to RAG and GraphRAG use cases, including data source preparation, indexing, and response quality evaluation
• Support the development of reusable AI building blocks such as agent skills, tools, and MCP servers
• Assist with systematic model evaluations and benchmarks focusing on quality, security, and performance, as well as prompt engineering activities
• Create and maintain documentation covering infrastructure, AI use cases, and project dependencies
• Support software development activities within customer-facing IT solutions
• Help coordinate the resolution of operational tasks, for example within our AI Gateway and model endpoint environments
• Perform IT-side reviews and acceptance testing of development activities before solutions are handed over to business users for validation, * Exciting and challenging tasks and projects involving modern technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, LLMs, and agentic AI
• Insights into the complete lifecycle of AI solutions, from use case assessment to secure and cost-efficient operations

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, or a comparable field, ideally with initial practical experience gained through internships and/or working student positions
• Experience in software development, preferably with Python or similar technologies
• Initial experience or a strong interest in GenAI and LLM technologies (e.g., prompt engineering, agent frameworks, RAG, embeddings), whether through university projects, theses, competitions, or personal initiatives
• Basic knowledge of Git and an interest in learning about cloud technologies and APIs, ideally in AWS environments
• Proficient user knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Strong customer and service orientation combined with a structured, proactive, and independent way of working
• Very good communication skills in either German or English (written and spoken); knowledge of the other language is an advantage
