Job DescriptionSenior Controls Design Engineer - Hybrid Working - International Travel * £55,000 - £60,000 * Oxfordshire (Hybrid Working - 3 Days Office Based with Extensive International Travel) Our client specialises in the automated material handling and intralogistics industry and is renowned for delivering innovative engineering solutions on a global scale while offering engineers the opportunity to work on complex, high-profile automation projects. They have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Controls Design Engineer to join their team. This position is well-suited to a proactive and technically driven individual looking to take ownership of project delivery and develop their leadership capabilities within a growing engineering environment. This position is based within the Controls Engineering department and reports into the Engineering Management team. You will lead controls engineering activities across multiple projects, develop PLC, HMI and SCADA solutions, and

support the delivery of innovative automated systems from design through to commissioning. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with significant exposure to customer sites across the UK and EMEA region. Responsibilities * Lead controls engineering activities across automation projects. * Design and develop PLC software, HMI and SCADA systems. * Perform software testing, emulation and system validation. * Interpret electrical schematics and technical design documentation. * Ensure systems comply with relevant machinery and safety standards. * Produce project documentation including specifications, risk assessments and test procedures. * Support commissioning activities and provide end-user training. * Mentor and support other engineers within the project team. Requirements * Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics or a related Engineering discipline. * Strong experience with Siemens S7 and/or TIA Portal. * Proven background in industrial automation and controls engineering. * Advanced understanding of PLC development tools and software testing. * Experience with industrial communication networks such as Profinet, Profibus, ASi or Ethernet/IP. * Ability to lead engineering activities autonomously and support colleagues on projects. * Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel up to 60% of the year.
