QA Automation Engineer

You could be progressing your career in a hands-on Senior QA Automation Engineer role at a scaling Fintech who have built a highly complex, real-time energy trading platform to revolutionise energy buying for large industrial and commercial users.

This is a senior, highly autonomous QA role with a strong focus on test automation, end-to-end integration and data flows. The core platform uses AI to process unstructured data from multiple document types, extract information and move it through a complex network of internal systems. You’ll be responsible for ensuring these integrations and data journeys work accurately, reliably and at scale.

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer rather than focusing purely on testing individual applications, you’ll take ownership of testing the connections between systems, with internal integrations predominantly API led and built on a modern data platform. You’ll also work with third-party integrations, including fund administrators, where less standardised interfaces can require more sophisticated approaches to data ingestion and testing.

A key part of the role will be establishing automated test coverage from the ground up, bringing structure and best practice to an environment where existing documentation and automation are limited. You’ll have significant autonomy to determine the right testing strategy, tooling and approach.

The role is also highly business facing, you’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, support user acceptance testing and ensure the platform meets real operational needs.

• You’re an experienced QA Engineer with strong Playwright Test Automation skills
• You’re comfortable working with APIs, complex data flows and multiple systems
• You use Claude in your day to day activities and can review its output
• You’re happy to work autonomously and make the tech decisions
• You have experience of working in a trading / finance environment, with an understanding of financial data and good numeracy skills
• You’re collaborative and pragmatic with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• You are degree educated in a STEM discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Maths, Economics or Physics) from a top tier university e.g. Russel Group / Oxbridge
