Network Test Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Network Test Engineer with 8+ years of experience in network routing, switching, and lab certification to join an Enterprise Network Services (ENS) team in New York., * Hardware & Software Certification: Lead lab testing and rapid certification of network hardware (routers, switches) and operating systems (IOS, XE, NX-OS, XR, EOS) prior to production deployment.

• Rapid Security & Patch Certification: Execute expedited certification for Software Maintenance Upgrades (SMUs), code releases, and patches driven by CVEs and risk management events.
• Automation & IaC: Create, maintain, and expand test automation workflows using Python, Ansible playbooks, REST APIs, and Infrastructure-as-Code techniques to boost testing efficiency.
• Performance & Interoperability Testing: Perform functional and performance testing using IXIA and Spirent tools. Validate interoperability with network appliances like firewalls and load balancers (F5, A10, Fortinet, SRX).
• Cloud-Native & Observability: Evaluate and operate cloud-native networks using Kubernetes (CNI, kubectl) and eBPF-based platforms (Cilium) for service load balancing, policy enforcement, and kernel telemetry.
• Engineering Standards & Guidelines: Draft engineering guidelines, certification reports, standard configuration templates, and bug tracking documentation.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement: Manage vendor relationships, evaluate Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and present technical recommendations to technical teams and business unit leaders.

This role focuses on hands-on lab testing, functional validation, rapid software/hardware certification, and test automation for enterprise data centers, campus networks, WAN/MAN, and cloud-native environments. The ideal candidate brings a background in network design and testing, proficiency with Cisco and Arista platforms, IXIA/Spirent test tools, and network automation via Python and Ansible., * Experience: 8+ years of senior-level experience in LAN/WAN network design, engineering, and code/feature certification in lab environments.

• Certification: CCIE level or minimum CCNP.
• Core Protocols: In-depth knowledge of OSPF, BGP, Spanning Tree, CEF, TCAM, and Multicast (IGMPv2/v3, PIM-SM, Static RP, RP-Anycast, MSDP).
• Hardware Platforms: Hands-on proficiency with Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR4k, ASR1k) and Arista platforms (7280, 7504, 7060).
• Network Automation: Solid experience writing Python scripts, Ansible playbooks, and managing code in Git/GitHub.
• Testing Tools & Packet Analysis: Expertise using IXIA, Spirent, Wireshark, and TCPDUMP.
• Linux & Systems: Strong foundational knowledge of Linux administration, Kubernetes operational tools (kubectl), and CNI.
• Security & Risk Assessment: Familiarity with CVE analysis, vulnerability evaluation, and patch certification.

Desired Skills

• Experience integrating Ansible playbooks with the ROBOT Framework.
• Knowledge of Network Access Control (802.1x, MAB, Port Security, NAC), QoS (L2/L3), and IPSec.
• Exposure to public cloud networking (AWS or Azure).
• Familiarity with Data Center physical infrastructure (10G/25G/40G/50G/100G cabling, power, and cooling) and router hardening/DDoS mitigation.
