Requirements

  • 8+ Years of Strong Network Engineer experience; specifically LAN/WAN network design, engineering, testing and certification/validation
  • Strong hands-on routing & switching background OSPF and Layer 2 protocols/Spanning Tree.
  • Strong experience with Cisco networking platforms, including Catalyst and Nexus; experience with IOS/NE/NCOS and code/features
  • Strong Linux foundation - administration, networking and automation

  • Strong hands-on python automation experience

Hands-on Ansible experience, including creating/maintaining automation workflows and playbooks

Strong troubleshooting exp w/ wireshark and/or TCPdump

Exp designing and testing Network hardware including routers and switches

Must understand network performance testing

Independent worker with strong communication skills - written and verbal

  • Must be able to document findings and present recommendations.

Must have Lab experience

  • In NYC they will be sitting in the lab

Plus:

  • Network Lab testing certifications
  • CCIE or CCNO level knowledge
  • AWS or Azure cloud Exp

Benefits & conditions

  • Work within the Enterprise Network Services Engineering team with a primary focus on network lab testing and certification
  • Test and clarify network hardware/software to ensure performance
  • Perform testing across campBranch, WAN/MAN, Data Center and low latency network environments
  • Perform rapid certification of patches, particularly when driven by CVEs, security vulnerabilities or high risk events
  • Validate that patches/code can be safely deployed into production network devices
  • Build and improve automated network testing solutions using python and ansible to increase coverage and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute testing strategies for routers, switches and other network infrastructure
  • Perform performance, interoperability and compatibility testing
  • Document test results

Misc:

  • The Ideal candidate is one that has prior worked on network engineering designs and testing plus evaluated products within a network lab
  • This is NOT a simple production network engineer/NOC role. The strongest profiles will combine deep network engineering knowledge with testing, certification and automation.
  • IDEAL background is someone who has designed networks AND tested/certified network products or code in a lab environment.
  • BIG emphasis on LINUX, Python/Ansible automation, Kubernetes and modern cloud architecture
