Sr. Software Engineer

KMM Technologies, Inc. in Rockville, MD is seeking a Software Engineer to design, create, and improve software for computers, networks, or specific utility functions.

Job responsibilities and duties include:

• As part of a group, review and analyze complex process, system and/or data requirements and specifications across a major program or project or several small projects or programs.
• Participate in the modernization and development task completion in support of a program, project or objective under general guidance.
• Review and contribute to component designs for a project, product and/or program.
• Build, test, deploy, and document software components of a project, product, and/or program level solution utilizing Java/J2ee/JavaScript/AWS Cloud technologies.
• Interface with other team members and other teams in peer review of requirements, specifications and software.
• Set and review with the team the coding standards, coding styles and performance benchmarks for the system including code repository maintenance in bitbucket, code review standards.
• Collaborate with the infrastructure, network, database, application and Business teams to ensure data quality and availability. Help in the transition of applications to AWS Cloud.

This position does not supervise the work of others.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or any related field of study, plus at least five (5) years of post-degree, progressively responsible experience in any related position(s) through which the required experience was gained.

Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable proficiency, skill, experience, and knowledge with the following:

1. Three or more of the following Java Technologies: Java/J2EE, JDK 1.5, JDK 1.8, JDK 11, JDK 17, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, Hibernate, Spring/SpringBoot, Microservices, or Junit
2. Three or more of the following Web Development technologies: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Angular JS, or React JS
3. Tomcat and WebSphere
4. Maven
5. Apache AEM 6.4, Apache AEM 6.2, Apache AEM 6.1, Apache AEM 6.0
6. Three or more of the following frameworks and libraries: Vert.x, Kafka, GraphQL, or Drools
7. RESTful and SOAP
8. Three or more of the following databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Cassandra, MongoDB or SQL
9. Three or more of the following: AWS, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, or SonarQube
10. GIT
11. Operating Systems: UNIX and Windows
12. XML and Python

Salary: $175,427.00 per year.
