Software Engineer 3

Onto Innovation is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our team in Wilmington, Massachusetts location. This role is part of teamdeveloping our next-generation proprietary semiconductor capital equipmentused in inspection and metrology for advanced packaging applications, including AI and other emerging technologies.

Specialized Expertise

This position requires deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience inMotion control systems for precision equipment

Key Responsibilities

• Translate customer and product requirements into functional specifications

• Design and implement algorithms for defectdetection and metrology

• Design and implement software for motion control sub-systems

• Motion profile tuning

• Conduct design verification and system-level integration testing

• 3 years of C++/C# software development experience

• Experience in controlling mechanical and electrical systems

• Experience in motion control, motion tuning, DIO

• Experience in semiconductor capital equipment development desired

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

• Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%

Compensation & Growth

• Base Salary Range:

$96,800.00 - $145,200.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.

• Additional Rewards: Annual bonus opportunities and potential long-term incentives tied to both company and individual success.
