ERP Data and Systems Architect

Role Overview: We are seeking a technically driven ERP Data and Systems Architect with strong experience in ERP architecture (Net Link or similar), SQL, and Power BI. The core focus of this role is to own and improve the ERP system - its tables, logic, data structures, integrations, and implementation - so that reporting, forecasting, and automation naturally improves. This is not a business SME role; we will teach the business rules. We need someone who can analyze, fix, rebuild, and optimize the ERP environment at a technical level.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

1. ERP Data Structure Ownership

• Diagnose and resolve data integrity issues inside the ERP (incorrect fields, broken relationships, and bad logic). * Redesign tables, workflows, and master data structures to support clean and consistent operations. * Ensure SKU data, BOM, customer, vendor, pricing, and inventory records remain structurally correct. * Work with IT on system changes, upgrades, integrations, and data flow improvements.

1. ERP Configuration & Process Logic Improvements

• Optimize ERP modules and workflows used by operations, purchasing, accounting, and sales. * Identify inefficiencies, gaps, or broken business rules in system processes. * Recommend and implement ERP-related fixes that reduce manual work and eliminate data re-entry. * Support future expansion, addons, or ERP enhancement projects.

1. Technical Issue Investigation & Root-Cause Analysis

• Trace incorrect numbers back to the originating ERP table, field, or process. * Document issues and implement permanent corrective actions. * Provide clear explanations of technical problems and solutions.

1. Data Modeling & SQL Development for ERP Data

• Build SQL views, queries, and data models that extract clean data directly from ERP tables. * Create stable, scalable data pipelines that support analytics, automation, and system integrations. * Validate the accuracy and consistency of all ERP-based datasets.

1. Maintain a Formal ERP & Data Dictionary

• Document fields, tables, definitions, and data flows in the ERP. * Establish consistent definitions for business metrics and reporting logic. * Keep documentation updated as changes are implemented., * Clean, accurate, and consistent ERP and reporting data * A fully maintained enterprise data dictionary used across departments * Reliable, automated reporting with trusted metrics * Faster and more confident business decision-making * Improved alignment between business operations and IT

Technical Skills (Required) * Strong SQL experience (queries, stored procedures, and data modeling). * Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Net-Link, custom ERPs, or comparable platforms). * Experience translating business processes into data models. * Power BI proficiency (data models, DAX, performance optimization). * Understanding relational databases, table structures, and normalization principles.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting or configuring ERP modules. * Experience with ETL tools or API-based integrations. * Ability to automate tasks (Python, PowerShell, or similar helpful but optional). * Ability to read RPG a plus.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical thinking and root-cause problem solving. * Clear communication of technical issues to non-technical teams. * Organized, detail-oriented, and consistent in documentation.
