This team is specializedincutting-edge analytics for satellite data developing large-scale machine learning pipelines run on distributedsystems.Our algorithm combines several methods, from deep learning, to custom ML algorithms,and basic statistics. We carefully engineer our methodology to ensure generalization across geographies, robustness, and explainability.At the core of our product is theproprietary deforestation detection algorithmwhich monitors thousands of farms every day. We are looking for experts inGeospatial Data Science / Remote Sensing Researchers.On your typical day, you will -Design and implement geospatial analyticsusing state-of-the-art deep learning techniques and statisticsResearch cutting-edge methodsfrom Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence and apply them to remote sensingEngineer and operationalizeprototype-stage methods to full-blown enterprise-grade production systemsAnalyze, interpret, and monitor performancefrom production data analytics pipelinesTranslate customer requests and complex regulatory requirementsinto a algorithmic, data-driven solutionShape the product and technology roadmapconsidering your experience in data science and satellite technologyProjects you might take over areUsemasked autoencoder techniquesbased to enhance generalization and data efficiencyImprovechange detectionin time-series image data using supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning methodsFusemultiplesatellite modalitiessuch as SAR, optical, and LIDAR in a streamlined data pipeline to enable near-real-time monitoring2+ years of relevant industry experience or a PhD in the field of remote sensing, computer vision, and satellite technology- with an advanced technical and quantitative degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science or similarAdvanced programming skills in Pythonand proficiency with typical data engineering and deep learning frameworks, as well as familiarity with GIT and unix-based systemsFamiliarity in working with remote sensing data (SAR, LIDAR, optical)- you developed satellite data analytics use-cases and you are familiar with its possibilities and limitationsProven practical experience(e.g., prior jobs, academia, or open-source projects) in developing quantitative methods and production-level codeCollaborative software developmentin a dynamic, hypothesis driven environmentFluent in English, German is a plusA purpose-driven mission tackling complex sustainability challenges whilst working alongside global industry pioneersRoom for creativity through collaborative teamwork and an open communication cultureFlexibility and team bonding with our hybrid work optionsFuel for your growth journey, both personally and professionallySustainable mobility options, promoting eco-friendly commuting solutionsFun team events and outings with our global teams

Requirements

2+ years of relevant industry experience or a PhD in the field of remote sensing, computer vision, and satellite technology

  • with an advanced technical and quantitative degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science or similar Advanced programming skills in Python and proficiency with typical data engineering and deep learning frameworks, as well as familiarity with GIT and unix-based systems Familiarity in working with remote sensing data (SAR, LIDAR, optical)

  • you developed satellite data analytics use-cases and you are familiar with its possibilities and limitations Proven practical experience (e.g., prior jobs, academia, or open-source projects) in developing quantitative methods and production-level code Collaborative software development in a dynamic, hypothesis driven environment Fluent in English , German is a plus A purpose-driven mission tackling complex sustainability challenges whilst working alongside global industry pioneers Room for creativity through collaborative teamwork and an open communication culture
