If so, we are working with a leading global investment management organisation seeking a Head of Cloud & Digital Workplace Engineering to lead the strategy, governance and operation of its Microsoft technology ecosystem. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of cloud infrastructure, digital workplace services and enterprise AI platforms, driving innovation, resilience and operational excellence across a highly sophisticated and rapidly evolving technology environment.Reporting into senior technology leadership, you will be responsible for the strategy, delivery and operational performance of a complex Microsoft technology ecosystem spanning Azure, Microsoft 365, End User Computing, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, digital workplace services and emerging AI platforms.
You will lead the adoption and governance of enterprise AI technologies including Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio and Microsoft Foundry, ensuring innovation is introduced securely, responsibly and at scale.This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a combination of technical credibility, strategic vision and exceptional stakeholder management skills. You will partner closely with senior business leaders, technology teams and key decision-makers to ensure technology services remain secure, resilient and aligned to business objectives.
Key Responsibilities will include
- Define and execute the cloud, digital workplace and AI technology strategy.
- Lead Azure infrastructure, End User Computing (EUC), endpoint management and VDI services.
- Own the roadmap for enterprise AI platforms including Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio and Microsoft Foundry.
- Establish governance frameworks for AI applications, agents and secure data access.
- Drive the adoption of AI across the organisation, moving high-value initiatives from proof of concept into production.
- Develop standards for architecture, engineering, security and operational excellence.
- Lead major cloud, infrastructure and AI transformation programmes.
- Improve automation, observability and operational efficiency across the technology estate.
- Ensure production services meet demanding requirements for availability, resilience, performance and security.
- Manage strategic technology suppliers, licensing, service providers and budgets.
- Build, mentor and develop high-performing engineering teams.
- Influence senior stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor on technology strategy and investment decisions.

Requirements
- Proven experience leading cloud infrastructure, workplace technology or technology operations within a complex, high-availability environment.
- Deep technical understanding of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Intune and modern workplace technologies.
- Experience implementing or governing enterprise AI solutions, agents and copilots.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Copilot technologies and enterprise AI governance.
- Experience managing critical technology services, incident response, disaster recovery and operational resilience.
- Ability to assess architecture, challenge technical decisions and drive technology standards.
- Proven track record building and leading high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets, vendors and strategic technology partnerships.
- Experience within financial services, asset management, investment banking, trading or other highly regulated environments.
- Exposure to AI agent development, model governance or enterprise AI platforms.
- Knowledge of operational resilience, risk management, security and regulatory controls.
- Experience leading large-scale cloud modernisation or digital transformation initiatives.
