Job description

North Lanarkshire Council is driving forward a programme of service improvement, digital transformation and performance management across Community Operations. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Business Intelligence Officer to join our team on a 23-month temporary basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of Fleet and Community Operations services through the collection, analysis and interpretation of performance information. You will support service planning, continuous improvement initiatives, asset management activities and compliance monitoring, helping to ensure services deliver best value and meet performance and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with managers and operational teams, you will:

  • Analyse and interpret operational and performance data.
  • Produce management information reports, dashboards and performance measures.
  • Assist with service reviews, improvement projects and policy development.
  • Support fleet asset management planning and performance monitoring.
  • Assist with compliance monitoring and operator licence undertakings.
  • Contribute to committee reports, briefings and performance returns.
  • Support the development and maintenance of business intelligence systems and databases., North Lanarkshire Council offers a positive working environment, flexible working arrangements where appropriate, and excellent opportunities for personal and professional development., *For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. Requirements

You will have significant experience in a performance, analytical, service improvement or policy related role and be able to demonstrate strong analytical and reporting skills. Experience of working with performance data, producing management information and supporting service improvement activities is essential. Experience within a local authority, fleet services, transport operations or asset management environment would be advantageous.

Applicants will be committed to ongoing professional development and ideally hold a HND/SVQ4 or equivalent level qualification. Strong IT skills, including experience of spreadsheets, databases and reporting tools, are essential.

You will be highly organised, proactive and capable of building effective working relationships across a wide range of stakeholders. A commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and delivering quality services is essential.
