Seeking a Technical Consultant to support the decommissioning of the NYCSERV-ADJ system, including associated applications, databases, and infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for performing system inventory, dependency mapping, and impact analysis across integrated systems. Duties include data extraction, archival and/or migration in accordance with retention policies, along with data validation and reconciliation. The consultant will identify and decommission or redirect interfaces, APIs, and batch processes, and retire application services, database instances, middleware, and supporting infrastructure. This includes handling third-party components, access removal, and service termination. The role also requires development of decommissioning plans, runbooks, and validation documentation, and execution of testing and controlled system shutdown in coordination with stakeholders. Decommissioning (40%) The candidate will decommission a Java-based application, including associated services, databases, and infrastructure. Responsibilities include system inventory, dependency mapping, and impact analysis across integrations. The candidate will decommission application code, APIs, and batch processes, and perform data extraction, archival, and/or migration per retention policies, with validation to ensure data integrity. All application services, middleware, infrastructure, and third-party components must be retired in a controlled manner. Application Development (60%) The candidate will design, develop, and maintain applications using ASP.NET, Web Forms, Entity Framework (EF), and Web APIs. Responsibilities include building new web services, enhancing existing applications, supporting system integrations, and performing testing and deployment. The role also includes troubleshooting, performance optimization, and ongoing technical support.
