Senior Electrical Engineer- Production Support

Our Advanced Radar Department has an immediate need for a Senior Electrical Engineer- Production Support. We are looking for candidates to collaborate and coordinate with our manufacturing facility, Program Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and other Engineering disciplines to proactively and efficiently resolve issues that may arise during production, testing, and integration. In this role, you will foster a culture of trust, transparency, compliance, diversity, inclusion, and accountability. This position will reside within the Cabin Production Design Support section that supports the Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) program

What You Will Do:

• Perform technical evaluations of hardware with the ability to categorize failures and systematically disposition failing hardware in a timely manner
• Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities, including root cause and corrective action investigations
• Communicate to program leadership status updates of hardware failures, products at supplier for repair, status of supplier repairs, and estimated completion dates and shipments
• Work across functions (Supply Chain, Operations, Production Control) to coordinate and ensure timely delivery/receipt of hardware for supplier rework/repair
• Main technical point of contact for key suppliers for production program and identify capability gaps and recommend corrective actions
• Support quarterly program performance reviews with key suppliers
• Ability to travel periodically to manufacturing facilities, vendors, or customer sites to support production (up to 25%).

What You Will Learn:

• Conducting failure investigations and providing recommendations to address systemic issues and to prevent recurrence
• Fault isolation / troubleshooting at the system to WRA/LRU/Sub-system level
• Leadership skills for small, cross functional teams
• Technical knowledge of key radar processing items
• Lead and participate in Production Readiness Reviews (PRRs) during technical baseline transitions from Development to Full-Rate Production (FRP)

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, * Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a role such as production support engineer, test engineer, supplier quality engineer, electrical engineer, and/or network engineer
• Experience with analyzing technical data and/or schematic drawings to support effective troubleshooting efforts.
• Experience with external vendors, such as communicating requirements, monitoring performance, and/or coordinating deliverables to support project execution.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required within 1 year of employment. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Leadership of small technical teams, including technical oversight and direction, cost estimation, tracking & reporting, coordination and preparation of detailed technical team reports
• Experience conducting failure investigations and providing recommendations to address systemic issues and to prevent recurrence
• Knowledge and experience utilizing a Factory Operating Systems (FOS) or Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) to manage critical material receipt and builds to support program execution
• Experience with fiber optic methodologies, standards, inspection criteria, equipment, and tools
• Familiarity with hardware compliance of J-STD-001 and ISO9001/AS9100 standards
• Statement of Work or Requirements experience

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
