Hardware Engineer

Meta is building the physical infrastructure that powers some of the world’s largest and most complex computing systems. As a Hardware Engineer on the Infrastructure Systems team, you will design, develop, and validate server and rack-level hardware solutions that underpin Meta’s global data center fleet. In this role, you will work across the full hardware development lifecycle - from architecture definition and component selection through bring-up, characterization, and production qualification - ensuring that Meta’s infrastructure hardware meets the performance, reliability, and efficiency demands of hyperscale deployment., 1. Design and develop server, rack, and infrastructure hardware systems including compute, storage, and networking platforms for large-scale data center deployment

1. Define hardware architecture and system-level specifications in collaboration with mechanical, electrical, thermal, and firmware engineering teams
2. Lead component evaluation and selection, including processors, memory, storage devices, power delivery components, and interconnects
3. Conduct hardware bring-up, functional validation, and characterization of prototype systems to verify compliance with design specifications
4. Develop and execute hardware validation test plans covering performance, reliability, thermal, and power integrity requirements
5. Analyze failure modes and drive root cause investigations for hardware issues identified during validation or production
6. Collaborate with supply chain, contract manufacturers, and ODM partners to support design-for-manufacturability reviews and production ramp
7. Contribute to hardware design reviews, generating and reviewing technical documentation including specifications, schematics, and test reports
8. Work with data center operations and deployment teams to ensure hardware designs meet operational requirements at scale
9. Track hardware program milestones, communicate technical risks, and drive resolution across cross-functional stakeholders

1. BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering Degree, with 2+ years of industry experience
2. 2+ years of experience with development and bring-up of data center system equipment, or complex consumer devices
3. 2+ years of experience with PCB design with both integrated and discrete circuits, and high-speed interfaces
4. 2+ years of experience with end-to-end enabling, design, and deployment cycle of multiple generations of products
5. 2+ years of experience in working with Signal Integrity (SI) and Power (including interfacing with SMEs and shareholder groups) as a board owner in developing the PCBA’s high speed interfaces, and power delivery subsystems
6. 2+ years of experience with hardware bring-up, validation, and characterization of compute, storage, or networking platforms
7. Experience with system-level hardware architecture including power delivery, thermal management, signal integrity, or high-speed interconnects
8. Experience reading and interpreting schematics, hardware specifications, and component datasheets
9. Experience collaborating with ODMs, contract manufacturers, or component vendors through the hardware development and qualification process, 20. M.S. in electrical engineering or computer engineering
10. Experience with design and troubleshoot data buses used in server such as PCIe, CXL, DDR, SAS, SATA, I2C, and similar analysis and resolution of system hardware issues
11. Experience with using high speed scope, logic analyzer, and other validation methods in validating and troubleshooting server data bus (e.g. PCIe, SAS, SATA)
12. Experience with delivering a complete hardware enclosure with other cross functional teams in engineering, program, and operation
13. 3+ years of experience with server system architecture from one of the major CPU/GPU suppliers
14. Experience with industry standard EDA tools for developing and reviewing PCB designs
15. Knowledge of Linux for hardware validation and troubleshooting
16. Experience working with thermal, mechanical, management firmware, system firmware, and software teams during product development
17. Experience with designing ASIC verification & bring up hardware
