Software Developer

MTSI is seeking several experienced Software Developers to support the U.S. Navy’s Threat Engineering Programwith advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis efforts for multi-domain sensors and weapon systems. Positions play a critical role in the development of Acquisition Threat Engineering Products (ATEP) and RedShip product line.Position requires ability to work inC++, Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM), as well as Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) simulation environments used to evaluate enemy combatant ships, weapons, and sensor performance to support Navy mission objectives. As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, the developers will contribute to the design, implementation, integration, and sustainment of complex software architectures that enable nextgeneration test capabilities across the fleet., * Design, develop, and optimize C++, NGTS, or AFSIM modeling and simulation software for multidomain, high-threat combat environments.

• Implement objectoriented architectures that accurately representsurface ships, missiles, and sensor system behavior.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, system engineers, and technical leads to define technical roadmaps, development milestones, and longterm product strategies.
• Participate actively in Agile development workflows, including sprint planning, peer reviews, and iterative release cycles.
• Apply DevSecOps principles to ensure secure, maintainable, and scalable development and deployment practices.
• Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system specifications, design artifacts, test plans, and user manuals.
• Support verification and validation activities to ensure model accuracy and performance fidelity.
• Integrate simulation components into larger systemofsystems environments and perform troubleshooting and performance tuning as needed.

• US Citizenship and a secret level clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience developing multi-domain DoD modeling and simulation software.
• Demonstrated experience developing, testing, or maintaining highfidelity models.
• Strong proficiency in object-oriented principles.
• Advanced handson experience building, debugging, and testing C++ applications in a highperformance environment.
• Willingness to collaborate with project managers and technical leads to build roadmaps for product development.
• Desire and ability to function in an Agile team environment.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps methodologies and secure software development best practices.
• Ability to develop and maintain detailed product documentation., * Prior experience developing platform, weapon or combat system models, including kinetic and nonkinetic engagements.
• Familiarity with weapon systems, radars, or navy combat systems.
• Intermediate proficiency with Python and MATLAB for data analysis, prototyping, or model validation.
• Master’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering).

The pay range for this position is $100,000 year to $130,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
