Job description

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to join a leading Life & Pensions organisation on a major transformation programme. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, actuarial teams, operations, risk, and technology functions to design, develop, and enhance data-driven solutions that support regulatory reporting, operational efficiency, and business decision-making., * Design, develop, test, and maintain Python-based applications and services.

Build and optimise data pipelines for processing large volumes of policy, customer, investment, and operational data.
Develop automation solutions to replace manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
Create APIs and integrations with internal and third-party systems.
Support reporting and analytics capabilities across Life & Pensions operations.
Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Develop reusable components and frameworks to support future development activities.
Enhance data quality, controls, monitoring, and exception management processes.
Collaborate with architecture, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure solutions align with organisational standards.
Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.

Requirements

This role requires a technically strong developer with experience building scalable Python applications, automation solutions, and data pipelines within a regulated financial services environment. Experience within Life & Pensions, Insurance, Investments, or Wealth Management is highly desirable., * Strong commercial experience developing applications in Python.

Experience with:
Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
API development and integration.
SQL and relational databases.
Data modelling and ETL development.
Git version control and CI/CD practices.
Experience working within a regulated financial services environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience developing automated reporting and data processing solutions.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
