Research Software Engineer I (Onsite)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required., * BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or STEM major obtained by start date.

• Experience with Java and/or C, Linux, basic Networking, and Cloud Integration
• Experience with distributed systems, middleware, and AI

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Creative problem solving and experimental design
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Work in a self-directed manner as part of a team

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.

• Work with a small team on cutting-edge research and development projects, focusing on AI based planning and scheduling (e.g., in the context of joint all domain command and control), novel compiler (e.g., LLVM passes) and/or OS-related (e.g., kernel modules, userland services) capability development
• Design and develop prototype software using the latest open-source technologies
• Receive and incorporate feedback from end users, field tests, and exercises
