Analytics Engineer - Senior Consultant

As an Analytics Engineer in Slalom’s Data Experience (DX) practice, you will play a critical role in bridging business needs and technical solutions. You’ll work hands-on with modern data platforms and semantic layer technologies, helping to transform the way organizations access, model, and leverage their data for analytics, AI, and decision support. You will collaborate with business and technical stakeholders, facilitate design sessions, and be a key contributor to our delivery of next-generation data solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and modernize semantic layers to enable self-service analytics, AI, and cross-platform reporting
• Design and develop data-rich applications that blend standard software (Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, or similar) with open-source technologies (e.g., Streamlit)
• Facilitate design and requirements sessions with business and technical teams, translating insights into actionable data models and technical solutions
• Develop and optimize data models using SQL, Python, or other relevant languages
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to ensure data quality, usability, and alignment with business goals
• Implement best practices for data integration, governance, and analytics enablement
• Contribute to the delivery of integrated analytics experiences, moving beyond traditional dashboards to deliver holistic, user-centric solutions
• Stay current with emerging tools and techniques in analytics engineering, AI, and data platforms

• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field
• 3 - 5 years of leading project teams and complex work streams
• Proficiency in SQL and/or Python; experience with semantic layer tools and analytics platforms (e.g., dbt, Looker, Power BI, Tableau, Sigma)
• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and analytics solution design
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Fluency in white boarding and design solutions for data mapping and user experience requirements
• Exposure to or interest in AI/ML integration and modern data architectures
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Work Model:

Hybrid and client-facing, with travel based on engagement needs. Up to 25 - 50% travel

• Senior Consultant: $116,000 - $145,000 * All other locations:

• Senior Consultant: $106,000 - $135,000
