Job description

  • Run and iterate on camera and sensor simulation pipelines to generate synthetic datasets on demand.

  • Deliver training and evaluation data to Camera Architecture and Machine Learning teams within aggressive project timelines.

  • Support machine learning algorithm training and evaluation using generated synthetic data by running training jobs, producing evaluation metrics, and refining dataset composition based on model performance.

  • Configure simulation scenes and sensor parameters to align with customer and architectural specifications.

  • Validate and quality-check generated datasets prior to handoff.

  • Maintain and enhance simulation tooling and dataset generation scripts.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams to support AI and computer vision initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on machine learning infrastructure.

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience using Python and C++.

  • Experience building and supporting machine learning models, architectures, and pipelines.

  • Experience running machine learning training and evaluation workflows, preferably using PyTorch.

  • Ability to interpret model performance metrics and apply findings to improve dataset quality and composition.

  • Experience working with large-scale dataset generation, storage, and versioning.

  • Strong understanding of Linux development environments and source control practices.

  • Understanding of camera simulation fundamentals, including intrinsic and extrinsic calibration.

  • Knowledge of sensor modeling concepts such as quantum efficiency, conversion gain, read noise, and shot noise.

  • Understanding of image formation processes and Image Signal Processor (ISP) fundamentals.

  • Experience supporting AI-driven computer vision or perception systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with rendering engines such as Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, or similar simulation frameworks.

  • Background in optical imaging concepts including radiometry, PSF (Point Spread Function), and MTF (Modulation Transfer Function).

  • Experience with camera tuning, ISP tuning, or perception model development.

  • Prior experience working with synthetic data generation environments and advanced simulation platforms.
