AI Engineer

• We are looking for 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong hands-on experience in Python and/or Java.
• We need practical experience working with LLMs, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG.
• We require experience building and deploying applications in cloud environments; Azure is preferred, with AWS or GCP also considered.
• We are looking for strong knowledge of APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• We need familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• We require experience working with SQL and NoSQL data stores, as well as large datasets.
• Bonus points if we have experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• A degree in a relevant field would be beneficial, though the role is primarily focused on practical engineering experience.

We are a fast-growing healthtech organisation of around 280 people, and we are hiring our first dedicated AI Engineer to help build our AI capability from the ground up. This is a hybrid role based in Reading, offering the chance to make a real-world impact on purpose-driven products. The package includes a salary of up to £95,000 depending on experience, a bonus, and private medical cover.
