Role can be based in London but you will need to travel to the Portsmouth office 1 to 2 days a week for first few months.

This role operates across the Nucleus Enterprise group, working with blended teams of implementation consultants and testers across Third Financial and Dunstan Thomas, supporting multiple platforms, technologies and operational services to deliver seamless, high-quality client outcomes.

We are seeking an Implementation Consultant to support the successful delivery of pension-related projects and implementation initiatives. Acting as a bridge between customers, business teams, and technical delivery teams, you will combine strong pensions expertise with business analysis and testing capabilities to ensure solutions meet customer requirements and deliver expected outcomes.

This role is ideal for a pensions professional who enjoys exploring pensions software, becoming the expert on investment platforms, gathering and analysing requirements, defining business processes, supporting solution design, executing implementation activities, being the “go-to” person for pensions knowledge, and contributing to testing activities throughout the implementation lifecycle.

Responsibilities Investment Platform Specialist

Work closely with our pension experts, product owners, and operations teams to become a subject matter expert in Nucleus Enterprise’s investment platforms and software solutions. We are seeking a proactive and inquisitive individual who is keen to develop a deep understanding of platform functionality, user journeys, and operational processes.

This foundational aspect of the role will equip you with the knowledge required to translate client and business requirements into software user stories, assess the impact of change on operational processes, and contribute to the successful execution of testing activities. By developing expertise across multiple product propositions and investment platforms, you will become a trusted point of reference for platform capability, process design, and solution delivery.

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering Work closely with customers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and project objectives. Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to gather, analyse, and document requirements. Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and user stories. Support process mapping, gap analysis, and solution design activities. Translate requirements to software developers and operational consultants for business readiness preparations.

Implementation & Change Delivery Support the delivery of pension-related projects, implementations, and change initiatives. Collaborate with project managers, SMEs, operational teams, and technical teams to ensure successful outcomes. Assist in managing project risks, issues, and dependencies. Support customer onboarding, configuration, migration, and implementation activities where required.

Testing & Quality Assurance Contribute to test planning, test preparation, and execution activities. Create and execute test scenarios and test cases based on business requirements. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and defect management processes. Ensure delivered solutions meet agreed business and customer requirements.

Stakeholder Management Build effective relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. Provide regular updates on requirements, progress, risks, and outcomes. Act as a trusted point of contact for pensions-related queries during project delivery.

• Experience within the pensions industry, ideally across administration, operations, change, or implementation projects.
• Strong knowledge of pension schemes, processes, and industry practices.
• Experience gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements.
• The ability to facilitate workshops and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience supporting testing activities, including test case creation, execution, and UAT.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work across business and technical teams.

Primary objectives Initially, you will be expected to work on-site in Portsmouth two to three days per week alongside our pension SMEs and operational administrators to develop a strong understanding of our platform and business processes. This hands-on approach will enable proactive learning, allowing you to make full use of the expertise and resources available to support both functional and operational knowledge development.
