Lead Software Developer

• Lead and grow a highly performing engineering team that delivers excellent outcomes for our Issuer Services Investor Engagement business
• Build and foster a passionate, skilled, engaged, and motivated team of software engineers
• Help the team engage closely and collaboratively with the business
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and day-to-day support to engineers
• Coordinate coaching, mentoring, training, and professional development programs
• Encourage participation in learning and development activities, including industry updates, lunch-and-learn sessions, mentoring, and formal training
• Drive the maturation of Software and Solution Engineering as valued disciplines within our Engineering team
• Attend conferences and in-house training, then share learnings with and encourage participation from our internal Engineering community
• Contribute strategically, promote engineering best practices, and remain hands-on with technical work

• Experienced engineer who enjoys guiding and mentoring others while remaining hands-on with technical work
• Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, robust solutions and applying and promoting engineering best practices
• Ability to understand and pragmatically apply best practices from across our Engineering Group
• Hands-on full-stack engineering experience with C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, and SQL
• Experience leading the engineering of web applications; mobile development experience is an advantage
• Strong record of collaborating with product managers, delivery leads, test teams, and support functions
• Clear understanding of the business domains served by previous products
• Experience working effectively with remote teams
• Desirable: hands-on experience with React or another modern front-end framework, such as Angular or Vue.js
• Desirable: practical understanding of front-end development principles and component-based UI architecture

We are recruiting a Lead Software Developer for our Issuer Services business, working closely with the Technical Delivery Lead. The role is part of a newly established team in Edinburgh creating next-generation customer experiences on a unified platform that brings together multiple businesses and product capabilities. You will be based in our Edinburgh office at least three days a week, with some flexibility to work from home.
