Job description
Lighthouse Games is a new AAA studio in Leamington Spa. We are defined by our pedigree of talent, and serious ambition to build a new best-in-class game. When you join us at Lighthouse, you will be able to create the best work of your career, in an environment that feels truly collaborative. You will learn from the best, and work along side the future greats of the gaming industry. Reporting to the Director of Live Service, youâll build and lead analytics, including data engineering, for a new AAA IP from development through launch and into live operations. Year one is about foundations: KPIs, telemetry and playtest support through Alpha and Beta. After launch, the focus moves to live service performance and economy health. This is primarily an analytics and people leadership role. Key Duties Include
- Own the analytics strategy by defining the questions, KPIs and frameworks that support product, design and commercial decisions, then translating them into a measurement plan covering telemetry, event taxonomy and data quality
- Build and lead the analytics and data engineering team through hiring, coaching, and setting standards, ways of working and priorities
- Partner with Design, Production and UXR to set hypotheses and success criteria for features and playtests, and evaluate them through telemetry, experiments or other appropriate methods, weighing data alongside player research and design judgement
- Lead player, product and economy analytics across progression, engagement, retention, segmentation, player journeys and economy health
- After launch, own live service analytics (content and event performance, monitoring, forecasting and scenario planning), delivered through dashboards, reporting and self-service
- Represent analytics across Design, Production, Engineering, Product, UXR, and with our publisherâs analytics team, aligning on definitions, reporting, and data governance and privacy
Requirements
- Experience taking a game or digital product through development and launch, including standing up telemetry and KPI frameworks and supporting Alpha/Beta testing. Live operations experience strongly preferred.
- Experience using analytics to shape game design, product or live service decisions
- A track record of building or growing a team of analysts and data engineers, including hiring, coaching and setting standards
- Strong, hands-on SQL, plus Python or R
- Solid statistical grounding: experimental design, inference, forecasting and scenario modelling, sound judgement when formal tests arenât feasible, and the pragmatism to know when a quick answer serves the decision better than a deep one
- Clear communication that turns analysis into recommendations, honesty about uncertainty, and explaining trade-offs to creative and commercial partners

-
Experience working with a publisherâs analytics or data team
-
Experience on a AAA title, large scale live game or an online platform
