Information Systems Security Engineer

As an Information Systems Security Engineer, you will:

• Assess security risks and ensure compliance with IA standards.
• Design, develop, and integrate secure IT systems, networks, and architectures.
• Collaborate with system architects and developers to implement security policies.
• Support risk management, accreditation, and certification processes.
• Identify and mitigate security threats throughout the project lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a security engineering expert on various project teams.
• Design and implement IA systems, networks, and architectures.
• Enforce trusted relationships among external systems.
• Conduct security planning, assessment, and risk management activities.
• Ensure proper handling of government data and adherence to IA policies.

• Experience: 7+ years as an ISSE on projects of similar scope and complexity.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related discipline (or 4 additional years of ISSE experience as a substitute).
• Certification: DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 2.

ISSE 2

• Experience: 14+ years as an ISSE on similar programs.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related field.
• Certification:
• DoD 8570.01-M compliance with IASAE Level 2.
• CISSP Certification required.

ISSE 3

• Experience: 20+ years as an ISSE on similar programs (Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years).
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related discipline (or 4 additional years of ISSE experience as a substitute).
• Certification:
• DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 3.
• Both CISSP and ISSEP Certifications required.
