Systems Engineer - Defense Systems

This team supports systems used aboard active U.S. Navy ships, with opportunities to improve performance, usability, reliability, and integration across complex mission-critical technology.

We’re hiring Systems Engineers to join a long-tenured engineering team supporting a major defense prime and one of the U.S. Navy’s most sophisticated operational combat systems.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role, not people management and not primarily software development. Depending on your background and the team you join, your work may lean toward requirements, integration and test, V&V, or technical investigation.

What You May Work On

• Requirements development, decomposition and traceability
• IBM Rational DOORS / DOORS Next
• Systems integration and test
• Verification & Validation (V&V)
• Technical investigations and root cause analysis
• Defect analysis and troubleshooting
• Reading and working with existing C++ as part of systems engineering and investigation
• Working across software, hardware, test and systems engineering teams

• Systems engineering experience involving requirements, integration, test, V&V, or related technical work
• Experience with DOORS/DOORS Next or comparable requirements-management work
• Enough C++ experience to read and understand existing code and investigate system behavior
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or another relevant technical discipline
• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
• Ability to work on-site in the Moorestown/Mount Laurel area

Already have an active Secret clearance? We’d especially like to hear from you.

You do not need previous Aegis or naval experience.

Experience with Python, MBSE, Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, MATLAB, automated testing, missile defense, naval systems, or integrated weapon systems is a plus.

Earlier in your systems engineering career? Please don’t count yourself out. We’re interested in engineers who already have relevant hands-on experience and want to broaden their exposure across the systems lifecycle, as well as more experienced engineers who want to remain technical.
