Job description

Data and Insights at Netflix is aimed at using data, analytics, causal inference, machine learning (ML), and sciences to improve various aspects of our business. In Conversation Data and Insights, we focus on delivering data products and insights that support our Marketing business partners in their complex and nuanced decision-making processes. We are a highly collaborative team that partners across Netflix to drive impact. We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to lead the design and implementation of robust data architectures and analytical toolings. This role will partner closely with Marketing, especially CP (Consumer Product) stakeholders and Data Engineers, Researchers, Data Scientists to transform raw data into high-quality, performant data models and insights that drive critical business understandings and decisions.

What You Will Do:

  • Data Foundations: Design, build, and maintain scalable data models that serve as the source of truth for the Consumer Product team.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Business Stakeholders, Product Engineering, and Data Scientists/Data Engineers to understand data needs and translate complex business requirements into technical data solutions.
  • Analytical Rigor and Visual Storytelling: Able to transform complex quantitative analysis into high-impact dashboards and custom data tools (e.g., Plotly Dash) that drive business decisions.
  • Engineering Excellence: Deliver scalable data solutions by merging advanced SQL and Python proficiency with data engineering workflows, ensuring reliability through engineering best practices like CI/CD, testing, version control and monitoring.
  • Business Strategy: Proactively bring data-driven perspectives to the table that challenge assumptions, uncover growth opportunities, and shape the future direction of Netflix Consumer Products.
  • Operational Balance: Manage high-impact, long-term infrastructure projects while remaining agile enough to handle ad hoc data requests.

Requirements

  • You have 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics, CS) or 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • You are an expert in SQL and possess deep experience with Python for data manipulation and automation.
  • You have a strong ability to translate ambiguous business requests into concrete data products.
  • You have a strong bias to action, favoring iteration and rapid results over perfect but delayed solutions.
  • You possess exceptional communication with technical and non-technical audiences; you can effectively influence senior stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts with clarity.
  • You are proactively learning and adopting AI capabilities to supercharge your workflow.
