Application Developer

Varmoda is seeking an Application Developer to support the development of a modern inspection and data-collection platform that will replace an existing legacy business application. This role will work closely with an established development team to design, build, and maintain web-based inspection forms, database integration components, and document-generation capabilities., The ideal candidate will have experience with JavaScript, SQL, HTML, and CSS, along with an interest in modernizing business workflows and supporting enterprise application development initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to contribute directly to a high-visibility application modernization project from development through deployment., * Design, develop, test, and maintain web-based application components.

• Support the modernization and replacement of legacy business applications.
• Collaborate with technical team members to deliver application features according to project timelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, functionality issues, and integration challenges.
• Follow established development standards, coding practices, and version-control procedures.
• Participate in application reviews, testing activities, and deployment support.
• Convert existing business forms into interactive HTML-based data-entry screens.
• Design user-friendly interfaces that support efficient field data collection.
• Structure and style forms using HTML and CSS to ensure consistency and usability.
• Improve form accessibility, validation, navigation, and user experience.
• Implement responsive designs that support multiple device types and screen sizes.
• Maintain consistency across all application forms and user interfaces.
• Develop JavaScript functionality supporting business-process automation and data collection.
• Capture user-submitted information and process form data efficiently.
• Implement client-side validation and business-rule enforcement.
• Develop reusable JavaScript components that support maintainability and scalability.
• Troubleshoot JavaScript-related application issues and performance concerns.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance front-end functionality and application usability.
• Develop functionality that stores submitted application data within a SQL database.
• Create and optimize SQL queries supporting application transactions and reporting requirements.
• Validate data integrity and troubleshoot database-related issues.
• Support application integration with backend database services.
• Assist with database structure reviews and data-management activities.
• Ensure accurate storage and retrieval of inspection and operational data.
• Support generation of formatted PDF documents from collected application data.
• Utilize Jinja templating technologies to populate document templates dynamically.
• Maintain document formatting, structure, and consistency across generated outputs.
• Troubleshoot document-generation issues and improve template performance.
• Support enhancements to document workflows and reporting functionality.

• Work collaboratively with developers, analysts, stakeholders, and technical team members.
• Utilize Git and GitHub for source-control management and collaborative development.
• Participate in code reviews and development planning activities.
• Document technical solutions, development changes, and implementation approaches.

• Experience with JavaScript development.
• Experience working with SQL databases.
• Experience developing with HTML and CSS.
• Ability to create, maintain, and troubleshoot web-based applications.
• Understanding of front-end development principles and browser-based technologies.

Preferred Education

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
