Enterprise VDI & Workspace Automation Engineer

As an Enterprise VDI & Workspace Automation Engineer, you will drive the end-to-end design, image orchestration, and performance optimization of the organization’s virtual desktop ecosystem. Elevating the role beyond routine desktop administration, you will engineer standardized, high-performance Windows golden images, build automated CI/CD-style deployment pipelines, and maintain the underlying Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops infrastructure. You will be responsible for optimizing user session metrics-minimizing logon durations, streamlining profile management, and tuning application delivery across distributed environments. By leveraging PowerShell scripting and modern endpoint telemetry, you will isolate cross-layer performance bottlenecks, enforce tight security baselines, and deliver a seamless, high-availability virtual workspace experience to end users across the enterprise.

Direct experience engineering, managing, or supporting large-scale virtual desktop environments. -Hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) or equivalent enterprise VDI platforms. -Proven ability to build, maintain, optimize, and standardize Windows desktop golden OS images. -Proficiency using PowerShell or similar scripting technologies to automate deployment and management workflows. -In-depth knowledge of Windows OS internals, client configurations, and enterprise endpoint management. -Skill in troubleshooting complex virtual desktop issues, application failures, profile corruption, and session latency. -Solid understanding of virtualization layers, hypervisors, network connectivity, Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, and PKI certificates. -Advanced technical diagnostic capabilities to isolate and resolve systemic cross-layer bugs. -Track record of managing multiple engineering priorities independently within fast-paced enterprise environments., Hands-on experience managing desktop delivery via Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) or Machine Creation Services (MCS). -Expertise configuring and maintaining Citrix ADC/NetScaler, Access Gateway, StoreFront, and Director. -Experience conducting load testing and performance benchmarking using Login VSI or enterprise telemetry tools. -Advanced proficiency with FSLogix profile containers, Citrix Profile Management, and Active Directory Group Policies (GPOs). -Familiarity with underlying hypervisor platforms, including VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V. -Exposure to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Citrix Cloud, or hybrid cloud desktop virtualization architectures. -Skill leveraging enterprise monitoring platforms (e.g., Splunk, ControlUp, or Tanium) to track session health and performance metrics. -Proven ability to leverage PowerShell, REST APIs, and configuration management tools for end-to-end environment automation. -Relevant technical certifications such as Citrix Certified Professional/Expert (CCP-V / CCE-V), Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty, or equivalent.

Education/Certification Requirements -Level II 8570 Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
